12 May 03 - Western Telecom partners with USP
The USP service is free to hotels, and offers a 0800 number for guests to use for reverse-charge ('collect') calls to the USA, and credit-card calls to other international destinations. For each call placed through the service, the hotel receives a payment of US$8, and the guest is billed at the AT&T Direct Rate, the most competitive International Operator Service rate available.

20 Jan 03 - Western launch Speedway: Broadband Internet access for hotel guests
Speedway is a high speed Internet access system. It enables hotels to provide broadband services to guestrooms, business centres and conference rooms using existing cable networks. The system will instantly give hotels one voice and one data point per room, and of course these can be used simultaneously.
